heyo! i'm Jessie, but you might know me as demure-serenity.i’m a self-taught artist and i do art as a hobby. i make stuff that i like, and that also means my art style is very experimental and constantly changing.i've been doing art since i was a toddler but i didn't start doing digital art until middle school (extremely inconsistently). I started taking it seriously in late 2020 after deciding to make a webcomic. i pretty much haven't drawn anything but KYD-related stuff since then X0i still have plenty to learn :)

what do you use to draw?
ibisPaintX and my iPad/Apple pencil! for final comic edits and animation, i use Clip Studio Paint on my computer + my Wacom Intuos/Huion Kamvas 19. for animations, i've also used FlipaClip.
how long has "kill your darlings" been in development?
since late December 2020 :)
when does the comic update?
currently... no schedule. i update when it's done. ideally, it should be once a month on a Saturday, but life happens, such as full-time employment and my general issues with time management now that my meds don't work good anymore :(
do you have the entire story planned out?
i have a rough outline with key scenes planned. every so often, i refer back to my outline, flesh it out by planning episodes between these key scenes, and then write the episode script itself.

there will be 3 seasons/3 arcs in total. right now, we're somewhere around the beginning-middle of the first arc ;0
can i make fan art/writing/etc.?
YES!!! yes, please do!! i will love you forever, print it out with crappy printer paper, and then post it on my wall. i will then proceed to wake up every morning and go to bed appreciating my fansヽ( ´￢`)ノ

all fan content of all mediums are welcome, and you can send it to me by email or by discord. i'll also feature your art in the following episode with your permission! also, if you write fanfic i might actually die. like... spontaneous combust.
can i sell KYD fan creation?
ALSO YES!! KYD is protected under CC BY-SA 4.0 license, which means:

  • you must "give appropriate credit...but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use."

  • you can "copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format for any purpose, even commercially"

  • you can "remix, transform, or build upon the material, you must distribute your contributions under the same license as the original"

that said, i ask that you don't take KYD episodes and art and sell them as is without any obvious or meaningful contributions made on your part. it's lazy, and uncreative, and i will judge you for it. and if you use KYD for generative AI purposes, i'm putting you on my hit list.

i also chose the ShareAlike license specifically to encourage the sharing of art. stay punk y'all
